The Final Day at the Transplant Games
Throughout the past four days hundreds of people from all across the U.K. have come to North Lanarkshire to take part in the events, support the athletes, organising the games and volunteering to help out.
The last day of the Transplant Games took place at the Wishaw Sports Centre where the athletics were taking place. We interviewed a range of people who were at the event such as the competitors, parents/supporters and volunteers.
Liam Waterworth won silver in the ball throw event at the athletics. He has enjoyed being apart of the games and feels it is very important to be involved as it is a great opportunity to support people like himself who have had a transplant.
Pam Dowell is at the games to cheer on her daughter Jade Dowell, who is competing in the 100m event. Pam thinks the Games are very important as they are a way to celebrate people of all ages who have had a transplant and have became a healthier version of themselves.
